I have a charge on my bank/credit card statement from Telecommunications Payment Services. Who are you?


We are an outsourced services providing payment processing services to independent Telecommunications Services Providers within Australia. Essentially we process and record billing payments of behalf of your Telecommunications company. We are fully owned by a Telecommunications Wholesaler and operate as a trading name under this entity.

Why is Telecommunications Payment Services debiting my bank account/credit card?


Telecommunications Payments services will debit your account on behalf of your phone company only:

• Where you have given permission to your telecommunications service provider for debiting to occur; and
• In accordance with the invoice that your phone company has sent you.

Your Telecommunications Service Provider has a contract with us to provide these services on their behalf. Our bulk processing capabilities ensure the costs of these services and need for staff are kept to a minimum for your provider and you.

Is it legal for Telecommunications Payment Services to be taking money from me?


Yes. We have a separate agreement with your provider to supply these services to them and only debits your account where you have given permission to your phone company for this to occur. All Service Providers must be members of the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman who can be contacted in the event of a dispute when not resolved directly with your Service Provider.

Why doesn’t my phone company’s name appear on my bank/credit card statement?


In order to keep our services cost effective, as well as making it simple re what the charges relate to, the services will appear on your statements or invoices under our name: Telecommunications Payment Services. If you have any queries re the charges you can contact your provider who appears on your invoice. We liaise with the bank or credit card providers on their behalf.

Who do I dispute the charges with?


To dispute or query any charges please contact your phone company directly. Their name and contact details appear on the front of your invoice.

What about privacy issues? I never authorized Telecommunications Payment Services to access my account.


When you authorized your phone company to direct debit your account, you authorized Telecommunications Payment Services to perform this service on behalf of your phone company.

I don’t have a relationship with Telecommunications Payment Services. How do I know you don’t have access to my personal and banking details?


Our services are Payment Card Interface compliant.
